The Baby Show at Earl's Court

The Baby Show at Earl's Court starts tomorrow the 17th till 19th of October. Many different companies will be offering their wares! The show has valuable information on products as well as great parenting advice. You can shop at the convention Centre in London as well or just browse or get some free samples here and there. Rainy Day Projects

Since you never know about the weather (ahem, this past week!!!). You should always be prepared with some indoor Plan B!. I love this company called, The Little Experience. They make craft projects your 'chic little ones' can do indoors. The one pictured is called endangered finger puppets and costs 4.99 GBP. I found this wondeful site called Firebox and 2 items caught my eye. First up is this babyplane spoon for those that want to make mealtime more fun and for those who will do anything to make mealtime even happen! Comes in blue or pink and costs 7.95 GBP.

Next up is this straw called strawz that you can configure to any type of design you want. It's good for older kids and even grownups. Costs 9.95GBP and comes in blue or orange. If you have a bit of time go through the whole firebox site, they have some really amazing gadgety-type of stuff.

I posted recently about adorable kid friendly luggage to travel in style with this upcoming summer, well let's complete the luggage look! Fair Trade Fabulous!

For the Fair traders out there, I have found wonderfully fabulous wooden 'chic baby' toys From a sight called Believe-You -Can. The owner is a big advocate of fair trade products and the company is a member of the British Association of Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS for all you non-amateurs out there). The pictures don't do it justice. First up is a colourfully hand painted elephant money bank called 'Ella Fantastic'. The head unscrews in order to get the money from inside. It is 15.00GBP. The same design also comes in maracas for 8.00GBP. The other cute toy is a 'Mango Monkey' maracas made from sustainable rubber wood. Also 8.00 GBP. Purchasing toys while helping the world, just got easier!

Start Rite's Newest Shoes

Start Rite has some really cute shoes which are perfect for our "English Version" of summer. They are strappy plimsolls that come in canvas and have several different designs to choose from. I love the boys version called 'ahoy matey'. There is a girls favorite of mine called 'giddy up'...I especially like them because they have actually dared to make something not in pink and not with a fairy, the nerve of a company to be that intelligent for a change! they retail for about 14.50 GBP but Ariya is having a sale for 10.00 GBP, so go before they sell out.

Another personalised item, also from Not On The High Street (love this website). It's a hand made hair clip holder that has your little 'chic baby's' initial on it. Personalised Bunting For The Nursery

Again...love personalised stuff! I found this fabulous bunting on Not on the High Street's web site. It can be personalised with your little 'chic baby's' name. It comes in 3 colours, pink, rose and blue and it costs 7.00 GBP for 5 flags and an extra 75p per letter for the personalisation. Really adorable and makes for great decor.

Knitted Toys

I am a crafter and I am addicted to hand made products especially ones for 'chic babies'. I happened upon this store last autumn called All The Fun Of The Fair and I fell instantly in love...don't tell my husband! They sell a whole bunch of ready made knitted, crocheted or simply crafted items including materials for all the DIY wannabes out there. I like the knitted rattle tools with denim belt for 15.95 GBP.

As I always mention, I love Personalised Stuff!. Well here are some personalised fleeces perfect for all seasons ( I write this post while the rain in pouring outside and it just May in 2 days, but I digress). Yes, You Can Get Your Child To Sleep!

I know a little helpful secret to get your chic baby excited to go to sleep. What is it you ask? Well I stumbled upon this wonderful concept company called "Books To Bed". They sell an adorably packaged PJ and book, where the PJ is patterned after the artwork from the story book. Clever, no? Motivating for the little one to get ready for bedtime as well, no? I think so. It also makes a great gift because it comes wonderfully packaged. Sizes range from 0-24 months, a few different stories available and they retail at Blossom Mother & Child for 28 GBP.

Paper House

Love this Kinderhouse! It is a single piece playhouse that pops up when in use and then can be folded (as it is from cardboard) and stored under the bed. The "chic babies" can colour it in themselves and really personalise it as their own with crayons, felt pens or paint. It is wonderful for developing role play, story telling and even puppet shows. Cardigan Weather!!!

OK, the weather gave us a brief tease of summer yesterday but today it's back to normal. That means jackets and pullovers. I recently met the woman who started this absolutely fabulous cashmere clothing line for both 'chic babies' and 'chic mummies'. It is called Indigo. The textures of the cashmere are luxurious, the colours divine and the designs are fabulous. The one that really caught my eye is the Colour Block Cardi. It is two tones and has cute elbow patches. It comes in 3 colours, one for 'chic baby girls' as well. It runs from 6 months to 6 years and costs 60.00 to 65.00 GBP. Great gift for a new baby as well.

Angels With Dirty Faces

What do I not like about the online retailer Angels With Dirty Faces? Pretty much nothing!!! It is fabulous. It has amazing clothing, burp cloths, changing mats, bibs and blankets. They have a great selection of fabric prints that are appliqued onto their products. They make wonderful new 'chic baby' gifts or just pick something up for your own' chic baby. The appliqued kimono style bodysuit pictured here goes for 16.00 GBP. But go through the whole website, you will not be disappointed!

Yoga For The Family

For all the Yoga addicts out there or for those of us that think it's time to finally get to a gym, there is this really excellent box of 50 flashcards called "Yoga Pretzels". Its for both kids and grownups and a great way for the family to spend some quality time together. Its beautifully illustrated and the cards are large and come in a great storage box. Great gift for a host/hostess or for a new mum!

New Cath Kidston

I am usually pretty neutral about Cath Kidston, but they have expanded their kids line starting this spring and they have some cool stuff for both 'chic baby' boys and girls. First up, I like both their bibs (6 GBP) and their aprons (8 GBP). I especially like that they have patterns for girls, that even though it is mainly pink, it has other colors like green and blue mixed in. Cute gifting ideas.

I am also loving their little cowboy outfit for 'chic baby boys'. The shirt is 18GBP and the tassle jeans are 25 GBP, although I think the jeans could work for 'chic baby girls' too. You can't see from the website but the shirt also has a cowboy with a lasso on the back.

Bye Bye Boo Boo!

As my 'chic baby' becomes more active day by day, we have gotten more bumps and boo boos. The whole 'cold-ice thing' doesn't always work but a happy friendly looking ice pack might. Since our Boo boo bear that we bought in New York is on its way to the recycling bin, I decided to search for alternatives. I found tons of the 'Little Miss' and 'Mr. Men' reusable ice packs. I even found a whole Mr Bump First Aid Kit for 7.99 GBP. They also have gel warmers. Also for the "Charlie and Lola" fans there's a first aid soother for you too, for just 5.95 GBP.

Sales!!!!

I haven't posted any sales alerts but I have been floored by 2 in under 24 hours. First up is the GAP. Go to any gap store till Sunday and use any American Express card you have and you get 30% off the entire purchase. This is better than any mid season sales they ever have, so RUN because Sunday is approaching. And for GAP this is a great deal. If you don't have an AMEX card...sorry.
Second one up is Sainsbury's. All nappies, pants & pullups are 1/3 off. Yes, that's 33%, so an 8.98 pack is now 5.79 GBP. Quite an impressive nappy sale if you ask me. It lasts till Tuesday the 18th of March. So stock up, you always need them and the sale is never this good.
