Cardigan Weather!!!

OK, the weather gave us a brief tease of summer yesterday but today it's back to normal. That means jackets and pullovers. I recently met the woman who started this absolutely fabulous cashmere clothing line for both 'chic babies' and 'chic mummies'. It is called Indigo. The textures of the cashmere are luxurious, the colours divine and the designs are fabulous. The one that really caught my eye is the Colour Block Cardi. It is two tones and has cute elbow patches. It comes in 3 colours, one for 'chic baby girls' as well. It runs from 6 months to 6 years and costs 60.00 to 65.00 GBP. Great gift for a new baby as well.

Angels With Dirty Faces

What do I not like about the online retailer Angels With Dirty Faces? Pretty much nothing!!! It is fabulous. It has amazing clothing, burp cloths, changing mats, bibs and blankets. They have a great selection of fabric prints that are appliqued onto their products. They make wonderful new 'chic baby' gifts or just pick something up for your own' chic baby. The appliqued kimono style bodysuit pictured here goes for 16.00 GBP. But go through the whole website, you will not be disappointed!

Yoga For The Family

For all the Yoga addicts out there or for those of us that think it's time to finally get to a gym, there is this really excellent box of 50 flashcards called "Yoga Pretzels". Its for both kids and grownups and a great way for the family to spend some quality time together. Its beautifully illustrated and the cards are large and come in a great storage box. Great gift for a host/hostess or for a new mum!

New Cath Kidston

I am usually pretty neutral about Cath Kidston, but they have expanded their kids line starting this spring and they have some cool stuff for both 'chic baby' boys and girls. First up, I like both their bibs (6 GBP) and their aprons (8 GBP). I especially like that they have patterns for girls, that even though it is mainly pink, it has other colors like green and blue mixed in. Cute gifting ideas.

I am also loving their little cowboy outfit for 'chic baby boys'. The shirt is 18GBP and the tassle jeans are 25 GBP, although I think the jeans could work for 'chic baby girls' too. You can't see from the website but the shirt also has a cowboy with a lasso on the back.

Bye Bye Boo Boo!

As my 'chic baby' becomes more active day by day, we have gotten more bumps and boo boos. The whole 'cold-ice thing' doesn't always work but a happy friendly looking ice pack might. Since our Boo boo bear that we bought in New York is on its way to the recycling bin, I decided to search for alternatives. I found tons of the 'Little Miss' and 'Mr. Men' reusable ice packs. I even found a whole Mr Bump First Aid Kit for 7.99 GBP. They also have gel warmers. Also for the "Charlie and Lola" fans there's a first aid soother for you too, for just 5.95 GBP.

Big Blog Party....

There is a big blog party going on for all mom/mum bloggers at 5minutesformom.com and our blog wants to be apart of it.
Let me introduce our site for all the bloggers coming to visit from the party: I write about Chic and trendy baby 'stuff' for all the mothers over here in the UK! I am originally from New York and when I moved here, I found it harder to find all the readily available chic and cool things that I found so easily in NYC...but I knew it was out there and I have even found chic and trendy items you can't find in the States. So I write this blog to help point some mothers, like me, in the right direction. Hope you enjoy our site and would love to hear from you all!!!

Sales!!!!

I haven't posted any sales alerts but I have been floored by 2 in under 24 hours. First up is the GAP. Go to any gap store till Sunday and use any American Express card you have and you get 30% off the entire purchase. This is better than any mid season sales they ever have, so RUN because Sunday is approaching. And for GAP this is a great deal. If you don't have an AMEX card...sorry.
Second one up is Sainsbury's. All nappies, pants & pullups are 1/3 off. Yes, that's 33%, so an 8.98 pack is now 5.79 GBP. Quite an impressive nappy sale if you ask me. It lasts till Tuesday the 18th of March. So stock up, you always need them and the sale is never this good.

Can't Resist-One More Rug

Can't resist one more cute and very creative rug! From The Little White Company, a snakes and Ladders rug (even though it reminds me of Shoots & Ladders). It looks fun and playful. It measures 90x150cm and costs 100.00GBP.

Can't Leave The Girls Behind

OK, OK. I posted yesterday about 'chic baby boys' rugs and not a 'chic baby girls' rug so here goes. I found at Vertbaudet, this beautiful hopscotch rug with a french-ish twist ('ciel' and 'terre'). It measures 150x75 cm and it is not the typical flower or fairies pinkish sort of rug which is everywhere. It costs only 27GBP (a steal for a rug!) and it really is quite original and pretty.

Ahoy Matey!!

I believe finding the right decor for your little 'chic baby's' room to be a bit challenging...yet not impossible. I recently found on igloo's website a cute Pirate rug which is so adorable yet not run of the mill...exactly what I look for! It measures 100 x 120 cm and costs 69.00 GBP. It is quite colorful, playful and has the in the mo' skull and crossbones. Supply is limited so scoop it up quickly.

Buggy & Pram Clips

Making my life easier, while strolling with my 'chicbaby', is a wonderful invention called the Hook n Stroll Pram Clips. They attach securely to my buggy and I now get some extra space to hang my shopping bags while I am out with my buggy ( and 'Chic baby'). I have tried all the buggy clips out there and this one is absolutely the best. I am constantly stopped and asked about them. I purchased them at Happybags via the phone and the person on the other end could not have been nicer and the clips arrived quite quickly in the mail. They cost 6.95 GBP and that includes free shipping within the UK. Other sites may sell them cheaper but there is a shipping charge.

Sleeping Kids

Sorry for the long break in blogging but have been away for over a month, mostly voluntary but also part unanticipated. Anyway its a new month and have loads to write about!!!

A friend of mine in New York actually brought to my attention a wonderful product that she had to order online from the UK. Its called Kidsleep and it helps your child's sleep pattern get on track...which in turn helps yours! The kidsleep product works by showing your child in a simple and easy to understand way when its time to get up and when its time to stay in bed. It has 2 images, one of a bunny asleep and one of a bunny awake. When the child wakes, they can simply look at the clock face and the lit image will either be showing the sleeping bunny ( which means to continue sleeping) or it will show the wide awake bunny ( which means time to get up!) The clock has no numbers or dials, just the 2 images. All the parent needs to do is set the clock to the time you want your child to really get up. It is also great for sleep training your child to wake up later in the morning, by gradually changing the alarm to later and later in the morning. It is a very straight forward visual clock and your child should pick up on the rhythm quite quickly. Over 30,000 have been sold in Europe and as I mentioned, it was an American friend who told me about it ( and all her other mummy friends), she swears by it. It retails for 35.00 GBP including shipping. So enjoy and get that much needed sleep!
